Located next to the main golf course, The Learning Center at Galloping Hill is a great spot to work on your game, and you can even get in a quick nine holes at the practice course there. Named one of the top short courses in America by Golfpass, the par-33 layout, which plays 2,348 yards from the tips and has three sets of tees, was designed by the same architect who originally did the championship course. Created by Willard G. Wilkinson and opened in 1928, the practice course opens with four short par 4s with three of the remaining five holes, par-3s, including the 168-yard ninth. Best of all The Learning Center also has a great driving range, practice putting greens, and short-game area. The Galloping Hill Golf Academy in New Jersey offers world-class instruction and utilizes the latest in video swing analysis and instructional techniques. The Academy also offers an exclusive custom club fittings geared to fit any golfer with the latest golf equipment from the industry leaders. In addition to the practice facilities, Galloping Hill has a clubhouse, golf shop, and restaurant. The current location of Maple Dale Country Club has a rich history intertwined with the early history of Delaware. The land was known as Virgin Choice when Jane Bartlett took it up in 1681. The original deed, dated 1684 and signed by William Penn, assigned “Foxhall in the County of Kent” to John Reynolds for a yearly stipend of one bushel of wheat per 100 acres of land. Purchased in 1708 by Owen David of Wales with his father-in-law, the Foxhall Tract included an area of land from Hazletville Road north to Denney’s Road. Maple Dale was established in 1925 as a three-hole course and expanded to nine holes in the mid-30’s. After relocating in 1969, it was enlarged to a full 18 holes and now offers a mature course set amidst a wooded terrain, dotted with various ponds. A nineteenth hole was added in 2012. This USGA championship rated 18 – hole course is as challenging and fun, as it is beautiful, having only one recorded score below par in a 36-hole tournament. Players will test their course management skills.

Okeeheelee Golf Course provides extensive practice facilities, which include a driving range, 30,000 square feet of putting green, chipping, pitching, and bunker practice areas. Each hole has five tees to play from, so every skill level will feel comfortable playing here. With its unique park setting and beautiful vistas of Clear Lake, the facility is aptly named Okeeheelee, or “quiet waters” in the Seminole Indian language. Okeeheelee Golf Course is proud to participate in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for golf courses (ACSP), and is committed to environmental stewardship. Okeeheelee Golf Course, features nationally recognized LPGA and PGA instructors and provides affordable group and private instruction for all ages and abilities. Intriguing, well-conditioned and set on a spectacular piece of property, River Ridge Golf Club is an upscale, semi-private facility that offers an exceptional golf experience. The course, which opened in 1997, was designed by architect Chuck Smith, who carved holes into a unique landscape created by the rolling hills and ravines of the nearby Neuse River. To be sure, from the back tees of 6,740 yards, there are some forced carries, and course management is a tool you'll want to use out there. But there are three other sets of tees, giving everyone an appropriate yardage to enjoy this unique layout that includes wetlands, lakes, large rock outcroppings and gentle hills. At times the course can be a little narrow, setting up some good risk-reward opportunities. The no. 1 handicap hole, the third, is a long par 4 with a lake off the tee to the right. Mature hardwoods frame many of the holes, and the finishing stretch is particularly challenging, starting with the 485-yard, par-4 16th, which has a pond short of the green to the right. The 17th is a par-3 that plays nearly 200 yards. And the 18th is a great risk-reward par 5 with a lake and bunker just left of the green that can catch any wayward shots. In addition to the golf course, River Ridge offers excellent practice facilities that include a driving range, putting green, and chipping green. Inside the clubhouse is a well-stocked golf shop with the latest apparel and accessories. And there's also a clubhouse snack shop and bar as well as banquet facilities.
