Ryton, NB

ryton golf club

The original 9-hole course at Ryton was laid out in 1879 and extended to 18 holes in 1982. A modern two-floor stone built clubhouse has a pro golf shop on the first floor along with changing rooms and showers. The second floor has consists of a fully stocked bar and restaurant area which overlooks the course and surrounding area. Scoring opportunities are in abundance around this course, especially for those players who can get some decent length in their drive off the tee. The par 3s can be tricky, requiring long irons to well protected greens - miss the target and a challenging up and down will be required for par. The greens in general are fairly large and protected by deep bunkers to protect against any errant approach shot. Water hazards, including the River Tyne, and out of bounds pose a constant threat to your scorecard and a selection of dogleg par 4s make for a testing yet highly enjoyable game.
