Mesa, AZ

Superstition Springs Golf Club

Set in the heart of the East Valley, Superstition Springs Golf Club is one of Arizona`s most challenging golf layouts. This premier course measures over 7,000 yards from the back tee and has a 130 slope rating. This PGA Tour qualifying site is rated among the southwest`s finest golf experiences. In the design of Superstition Springs Golf Club, course architect Greg H. Nash sculpted the existing topography to create extensive and striking mounding, expansive bunkers, and a variety of attractive, yet strategically-placed water features. When finished, he had fashioned a course that was equally beautiful and challenging. Recognized by Golfweek as one of "America`s Best Golf Courses" in 1992, 1993 and 1994, Superstition Springs Golf Club is a former host of the P.G.A. Tour Qualifier.

Mesa, AZ

Golden Hills Golf Club

Golden Hills Golf Club is a fun and popular tee time option in Mesa, the largest city in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area's East Valley. The course attracts not only local Mesa golfers, but also players from the entire Phoenix/Scottsdale region who come for value-priced tee times on a traditional course that everyone can handle. The championship layout, a par 72 test with four sets of tee markers ranging from 5,123 yards to 6,676 yards, dates back to 1960. In its heyday it was a gathering spot for professionals who would play skins and other money games here. The course rambles through a community with lots of houses beside the fairways. The fairways are wide, however, and mature cottonwood and eucalyptus trees obscure the housing and help keep golfers focussed on the generous playing corridors. Arizona Golf Resort’ s predominantly flat layout features a nice mix of straightaway and gentle dogleg holes. Slightly raised tee boxes provide good looks at the challenge ahead. This is not a target course. You’ ll find grass from tee to green. A par 5 gets the game underway in strong fashion, as a lake looms to the left of the fairway the last 250 yards into the green. It’ s one of four holes with a water feature. The most water-bound holes are a couple of par 3s— the very long 4th and the signature 14th, a full-carry test from a tee box enveloped by cottonwood trees to the well-bunkered green. Arizona Golf Resort is known for its collection of five lengthy par-3 holes. After a par-35 front nine with three par 3s, the par-37 back nine presents scoring opportunities with three reachable par 5s. Since there are almost no fairways bunkers on the course, most players are able to hit their drivers off the tee. You will have to contend with bunkers, including some with raised lips, by the greens. With open front entryways to the putting surfaces, approach shots can be played along the ground. Once you get to the medium-sized greens, the slopes are subtle rather than dramatic. The greens are cut so they roll a friendly pace and give players confidence they can pick a line and drain a putt. Arizona Golf Resort’ s practice facilities include a driving range, chipping area and putting green. The clubhouse houses the pro shop and a popular restaurant with reputedly the best wings in Mesa. Arizona Golf Resort is a vintage property with a resort component behind the golf course. I

Course photo for Adobe Dam Family Golf CenterPublic access under review

Glendale, AZ

Adobe Dam Family Golf Center

The course at the Adobe Dam Family Golf Center is a 9-hole walking course that is executive by nature. The par-31 design includes one par five and two par fours, and features small greens which require precision shot making. Beginners love the lay-out, and more skilled players find it an excellent way to sharpen up their short games. Don't let the short yardages fool you. This is old time golf, and the greens are very small. To score low on this course you will have to get it "up and down" unless your iron shots are accurate. Holes eight and nine are difficult closing pars and key for a good score.
