The Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club | Members

Located on 315 acres of lush, tropical landscape, this immensely playable Tom Fazio designed 18 hole championship course is magnificently sculpted to reflect the natural beauty of its environment. It features abundant elevation changes and picturesque lakes throughout, which are so unusual for a Sarasota golf course. Beautiful wetlands, colorful flowering shrubs, informal native grass areas, marshes with aquatic plants, and mature Oak trees enhance the natural setting, which can be easily enjoyed on foot. "This will be a terrific walking course," says Fazio, "with very reasonable connections between the greens and tees." With six sets of tees, from championship lengths of 7,417 yards to forward tees of 5,175 yards, golfers of all skill levels can play the course at a length that will challenge them. Says Fazio, "The strong low handicap player will want to attack the direct lines of play. But for the higher handicapper, we're creating options and varieties around strong hazards."

The Seagate Country Club

The 18-hole championship-style golf course at The Seagate Country Club isn’t for everyone. Those looking for a quick and easy game won’t find it here. But for those up to the challenge, this course will set your heart racing. Originally designed by noted golf architect, Joe Lee, the course was recently restored by Gene Bates of Bates Golf Design Group, with consultation from PGA Tour golfer, Jeff Sluman. Careful renovation has remained true to the spirit of the original design while bringing the course up to date with advanced technology that didn’t exist at the course’s start in 1973. A new state-of-the-art practice facility features a fully outfitted driving range with ProV1 golf balls, putting green, short game pitching and bunker areas, as well as a staff of PGA professionals. Stretched across 300 acres, the course winds among stocked bass ponds with plenty of natural wildlife nearby. The greens now feature TIF Eagle grass, while the tree-lined fairways and tee boxes have been updated with Celebration Bermuda grass. There are a total of 91 bunkers with new G-Angle, manmade sand, and enhanced drainage. Cart paths are lined with coquina shells.
