Tannenbaum Golf Club

Carved out of the Ozark Mountains surrounding the crystal-clear waters of Greers Ferry Lake, Tannenbaum is actually a peninsula surrounded by water. Every hole is tree-lined and elevation from tee to green changes drastically, especially #12, where the drop is 130 feet straight downhill to a semi-island green carved from the mountainside. The John Floyd-designed course offers five sets of tees and one of the most challenging layouts in the state; it was rated by Golf Digest as one of the best places to play in 2005-2006 Tannenbaum also offers a 10-acre proactive facility with driving range, putting and chipping green and practice bunker. Its convenient location puts Tannenbaum close to world-record trout fishing on the Little Red River, recreation on Greers Ferry Lake, arts, crafts and shopping and other Natural State Golf Trail courses.

The Club at Starr Pass

Located on the western outskirts of Tucson, The Club at Starr Pass serves up 27 holes of visually stunning desert golf. The Club at Starr Pass is part of the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa and features three 9-hole routings – Gambler, Pioneer, and Palmer. Robert Cupp and PGA TOUR professional Craig Stadler designed the original 18 holes in 1987. In 2003, Arnold Palmer was brought in to add another nine holes and refresh the previously existing 18-hole experience. Nestled against the backdrop of the Tucson Mountains, these three layouts showcase dramatic elevation changes and iconic saguaro cacti, while crisscrossing multiple desert arroyos and ravines. The Club at Starr Pass has a storied history as a host venue of the PGA TOUR’s annual Tucson Open from 1987 through 1996. In 1991, 20-year-old Phil Mickelson captured his first PGA TOUR win…as an amateur. He was only the fourth amateur to win a PGA TOUR event. As such the club has played host to many golf legends including Arnold Palmer, Payne Stewart, and Nancy Lopez. A Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, the club consistently demonstrates a high degree environmental stewardship throughout the property. Starr Pass is the key amenity of the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa, a luxury oasis that is tucked in a mountain pass, that back in the 1800s was utilized as historic stagecoach line. Starr Pass is named after Richard Starr who pioneered the stagecoach trail through the Tucson Mountains. Starr built the path in 1884, as a quick route to Quijotoa, a mining boomtown 70 miles to the southwest of Tucson. Now is the time to “make your path” to Starr Pass.

Stockton, CA

The Reserve at Spanos Park

Serving as the centerpiece for the yet-to-be-built master planned residential community of Spanos Park, The Reserve at Spanos Park's 18-hole championship layout is being sculpted within 360 acres of lakes, wetlands and working farmland. The designer is noted golf course architect Andy Raugust, formerly a member of the Jack Nicklaus design team. When complete, the course will measure approximately 7,000 yards from the back tees and feature seven lakes coming into play on 12 holes; large, strategically-placed bunkers; and small, fast-breaking, well-protected greens that put a premium on shotmaking. The uphill par-5 11th features a split fairway. And the 17th is a 220-yard par 3 with a green surrounded by deep bunkers.
