Las Vegas, NV

Palm Valley at Summerlin

Palm Valley opened in 1989 as the first of the three courses. This par-72 course is the Golf-Summerlin`s longest, playing to 6,824 yards, and its rating/slope of 72/127 also ranks it as the toughest. The mature layout is neatly manicured with undulating fairways and rolling greens. Palm Valley does not overseed so golfers should anticipate dormant fairways during the winter months. This practice saves water and provides beautiful fairways during the warmer Las Vegas months. Palm Valley`s four par 5`s are short to medium in length; the longest two open and close the round. The 1st hole measures 537 yards; the 18th plays 534 yards. The finishing hole is a slight dogleg right with water to the right from tee to green and out-of-bounds left, so a premium is placed on accuracy. Fairway bunkers left also come into play, and the green is further guarded by bunkers left and back.

TPC Las Vegas

TPC Las Vegas is “desert elegance” on display. From the stunning backdrop of Red Rock Canyon to the rugged natural landscape, TPC Las Vegas golf course (formerly known as TPC Canyons) offers a test to the most seasoned of golfers. This is the premier PGA TOUR property in Las Vegas making it a destination for celebrities and PGA TOUR players alike. It’s no wonder the golf course has been heralded by Golf Digest as one of the “Best Places to Play.” The Bobby Weed and Raymond Floyd design is a par 71, 7,016-yard golf course that will test your skills while dazzling you with views of the surrounding mountains, canyons and the famed Las Vegas skyline. Your shotmaking ability is put to the test early in your round on the par-3 second hole (appropriately named “Canyon”). You will need to carry your tee shot almost 200 yards from the tips to an island-like green in the middle of the desert. The TPC Las Vegas golf course is recognized as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System. The course is located within the nation’s largest master-planned community of Summerlin and is just minutes from the world-famous Las Vegas strip. TPC Las Vegas served as host of PGA TOUR Champions Las Vegas Senior Classic from 1997-1999 and the PGA TOUR’s Shriner’s Hospitals for Children Open from 2000-2006. Las Vegas, NV

Highland Falls at Golf Summerlin

Highland Falls is one of the sportiest layouts in the Valley. The par-72, 6,512-yard course lies at an elevation of 3,053 feet, which means it offers stunning panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley. The front nine features rolling hills, which get steeper on the back nine. The four par 5s all play more than 520 yards. Two of the par 4s, the 4th and 6th holes, play 432 and 421 yards respectively, while the other eight all play less than 390 yards, but with the elevation changes, strategic fairway bunkering and well-bunkered greens, they all present fair challenges. Three of the four par 3s play less than 170 yards, while the 14th hole plays 206 yards. From the tee, one of the highest golfing points in the Valley, players can look down to the southeast and see the entire city.

Course photo for Chimera Golf ClubPublic tee-time evidence

Henderson, NV

Chimera Golf Club

Chimera Golf Club may not be a destination course in the Las Vegas golf realm, but it regularly draws rave reviews from locals and visitors alike looking for a fine, fun and forgiving round of golf that delivers good value. Located in Henderson, not quite 15 miles from The Strip, Chimera Golf Club is a Ted Robinson, Jr. design that was originally known as Tuscany Golf Club when it opened in 2003. The name change came with an ownership change. A couple of metal sculptures of the chimera, a monstrous fire-breathing hybrid creature from Greek mythology, adorn this course that anchors a gated community. Ted Robinson Jr., made the most of a rather confined playing field that is ringed by houses. Chimera Golf Club features fairly wide fairways, frequent but mostly mild elevation changes, a few water features, desert beyond the mounded fairways, lots of bunkers, and very nice greens. Topping out at just under 6,800 yards and noted for its short par 4s, this is a course that plays rather short and calls for placement rather than power. Chimera Golf Club is not a desert target course. You’ ll find grass from tee to green. While houses and desert surround the playing field, they are mostly removed from the action. Since the fairways are bowed at the margins, even errant shots tend to stay in play. ?Anyone who chooses the proper set of tee markers and can keep the ball in play has a chance to shoot a good score here. The greens also inspire confidence when it's time to putt?because they don’ t have a lot of break. Chimera Golf Club yields nice views of the desert mountain surroundings and of The Strip. The ends of each nine stand out as strategic and aesthetic highlights of the round. On the 9th hole a beautiful waterfall runs the length of the deep, undulating green. A little pond with a fountain sits off to the right side of the elevated green on the par-3 17th, while water poses the primary hazard on the picturesque par-4 finishing hole that is backdropped by the Stratosphere. The driving range showcases views of The Strip, Downtown Vegas, and snow-capped Mt. Charleston. The graceful clubhouse enjoys a setting reminiscent of a Tuscan Village and includes a well-stocked golf shop and a pub and fine dining restaurant. The clubhouse patio is a spot to savor your food and drink as you take in another stunning view of The Strip. Over the years, Chimera Golf Club has earn
