Pennsauken, NJ

Pennsauken Country Club

Owned and operated by the Township of Pennsauken since 1982, Pennsauken Country Club is a favorite in the south Jersey area. Opened in 1932, the par-70 golf course isn't particularly long at 6,250 yards from the tips, but the greens are plenty challenging as are a handful of the holes. Known for its outstanding conditioning and friendly service, the course also has four sets of tees to accommodate all levels of players. The design starts out with some short par 4s and gets progressively more difficult. The seventh is a par-3 that plays nearly 250 yards from the back tees. With an elevated green, it's one of the most difficult holes in South Jersey. But there are plenty of opportunities to score. Good drivers of the golf ball will have wedges into many of the par 4s, and the longest par 5 is just over 500 yards. The course finishes on a strong note with the 420-yard, par-4 18th. This dogleg right hole features a pond one the right off the tee. Oonly the longest hitters will be able to carry it. The approach is to a slightly elevated tee with bunkers surrounding the back, left and right sides. Pennsauken Country Club does not have a driving range, but there is a pitching and chipping area as well as a practice putting green. Inside the clubhouse is a well-stocked golf shop as well as a restaurant open every day for breakfast, lunch, and special events.

Course photo for Concordia Golf ClubPublic tee-time evidence

Monroe Township, NJ

Concordia Golf Club

Concordia Golf Club opened for play in 1984. The 6200 yard course places its demands on the players ability to be more of a shot maker than a long ball hitter. The outward nine plays to a shorter length with more doglegs and smaller undulating greens. Making the turn to the inward nine requires more length and accuracy off the tee. The inward nine requires that you negotiate the always-present winds, making the longer second shot to the green more challenging. The greens are always in top condition. Heavy emphasis is placed on green condition and speed. Regarded by many players throughout as the best greens in Middlesex County. Concordia hosts a wonderfully designed competitive tournament schedule for members who are seeking to compete. The membership is diverse with all levels of playing ability, making it easy to find a game for every member. For golfer’s who enjoy spending time practicing on their game, you will get to hit all the range balls you desire on the all grass range.

Course photo for Wild Turkey Golf ClubPublic tee-time evidence

Hamburg, NJ

Wild Turkey Golf Club

*DESCRIPTION: With its debut on July 7, 2001, Wild Turkey became the Crystal Spring Resort’s second Roger Rulewich design -- an outstanding encore to Rulewich’s award-winning Ballyowen. Located adjacent to Crystal Springs Golf Club, Wild Turkey’s topography is best described as “basin & ridge”. The layout’s two distinct terrain types combine the sheer expansiveness of Ballyowen with the rugged, multi-elevated nature of Crystal Springs. While it may be easy to classify Wild Turkey as a combination of its two sister courses, Wild Turkey stands on its own merit as a uniquely designed golf course, named one of NJ's Top New Public Courses by NJGCOA. The basin area of Wild Turkey -- consisting of holes #3 and #12 through #17 -- is reminiscent of the treeless expanse of Ballyowen. The par-3, 14th tee affords golfers a view of the entire hollow, while challenging them with a long iron to a deep green. Many of the par-4’s feature limited aprons require both strategy and precision on the approach shot. The green surrounding for the picturesque #15th hole is indicative of this prevailing design concept. The par-3, 7th signature hole at Wild Turkey shares much in common with Crystal Springs’ signature hole. It, too, is a forced carry over a quarry lake to a well-protected and intimidating target. Comparable again to Crystal Springs and Ballyowen, playing Wild Turkey is considered a challenging event. Yet the multiple tee locations, generously wide fairways, and moderately contoured greens make Wild Turkey an enjoyable experience for all skill levels. *GOLF SHOP HOURS: Opens 30 minutes before the first tee time. The shop remains open until every golfer completes their round. *DRIVING RANGE: This course shares a driving range with Crystal Springs and Cascades Driving Range is open from sunrise to sunset Included in the greens fees $4 for Rewards Members and $5 for public golfers Open to the public Dress code applies Hit off of mats Loaner clubs are available and based on availability.
