Paducah, KY

Paxton Park Golf Course

This is Paducah's Finest Public Golfing Destination. Nice, gently rolling championship golf course with 2 large lakes providing water on 5 holes and the ultimate in high quality greens--Champion ultradwarf bermuda, which is replacing bentgrass in the South on many courses that desire bentgrass quality putting surfaces and bermuda heat tolerance. The ball rolls true and fast on Champion, just like excellent bentgrass greens. Tee boxes are zoysia and bermuda and we have 4 sets of tees on each hole. Fairways are Bermuda grass. Paxton Park recently finished as the favorite golf course in our regional area. We finished as the "Winner" in the "Favorite Golf Course" category in The Paducah Sun's 2013 Annual Readers' Choice Awards. Paxton Park was the Runner-Up Finalist (2nd place) golf course in the 2012 survey, second only to The Country Club of Paducah. We are thankful to all the voters that voted Paxton Park their favorite golf course in our regional area.

Course photo for Pennyrile ForestAccess not yet verified

Dawson Springs, KY

Pennyrile Forest

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is surrounded by perhaps the most beautiful woods in western Kentucky. Named for the tiny Pennyroyal plan found in the area, the park is the perfect back-to-nature hideaway in the midst of a secluded, lush forest. Pennyrile Forest State Park Golf Course was expanded to a full 18-holes in 2003. This rural course lies at the bottom of a small valley surrounded by rolling hills. The course is flat with a creek running through the middle and water comes into play on every hole of the front nine. The new nine plays over gently rolling hills and through a pine forest. Hole #3, a 499-yard, par 5, requires a tee shot from a narrow chute with woods on the left side and the creek on the right. The fairway slopes toward the water hazard so hitting your tee shot straight is a necessity. Another creek must be crossed before you reach the green, which is severely sloped. All of this and more make Pennyrile Forest State Resort a one-of-a-kind getaway for the whole family. Let nature refresh and renew your senses as the backdrop for your favorite pastimes.

Quail Chase Golf Club is not your standard public golf course. For example, Quail Chase is the only Louisville golf course that features a 27-hole championship regulation layout.
