Rye Golf Club is owned and operated by the City of Rye and has an 18-hole course designed by Devereux Emmet overlooking Long Island Sound. Golf facilities include a full-service shop, teaching and practice areas, golf locker rooms and a halfway house. The wider club also has swimming pools, separate pool locker rooms and a snack bar. Whitby Castle, built in 1852, overlooks the finishing green and provides a setting for events and private celebrations.
