Wilderness Valley

Local golfers refer to Wilderness Valley as the “hidden gem.” The Al Watrous-designed course does not garner the publicity of its much-tougher Black Forest sister layout, but it's plenty “hard enough for most people,” according to David Smith, founder and owner. He also says, “Good players will have a good time.” One feature Wilderness Valley definitely shares with its newer neighbor is the serene beauty of the surrounding emerald forest. And among the evergreens and hardwoods, in the early morn or settling dusk, you may notice a few whitetail deer, a wild turkey, or even a badger. Winding between ridges that rise a couple hundred feet, Wilderness Valley is gently rolling but nonetheless includes a few dramatic elevation changes. The fairways appear generous but frequently narrow in the prime landing areas, and many of the holes bend left or right, putting a premium on accuracy. The rough is resort-friendly, and many of the greens can be reached by bouncing the ball rather than requiring a carry over one of the 45 bunkers. Women, seniors, and other players with a low trajectory ball flight especially appreciate this feature.

Wolcott Mill Golf Course

Wolcott Mill Metropark is really four parks in one. Visit a late-20th century working farm, then drive a few miles and 100 years into the past to see historic Wolcott Mill, built in the 1840s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Or, grab your clubs and play the 18-hole golf course. And if you’re looking for solitude along the North Branch of the Clinton River, visit Camp Rotary.

Woodside Golf Course

Woodside Golf Course is our latest addition to the Hawk Hollow Golf Properties family. This nine hole facility stretches over 146 acres along Wood Road and it is located less than three miles from Hawk Hollow and Eagle Eye. Three additional holes are currently under construction and slated to open Fall 2012. This will make Woodside one of only a handful of 12 hole courses in the country. The course is situated on a beautifully wooded piece of property. Stately hardwoods frame the generous fairways. The putting surfaces feature an interesting mix of gentle and challenging contours. Walking is allowed and both pull carts and power carts are available.
