The Course at Aberdeen opened in the summer of 1997 and was immediately recognized as one of the best golf courses in the Chicagoland area. Designed by renowned architect Dr. Michael Hurdzan, The Course at Aberdeen is currently the only golf course in northwest Indiana to receive a 5-star rating by Chicagoland Golf that is available for public play. Every hole is strategically placed to enhance its indivual character and provide a pleasurable golfing experience to every golfer, no matter what skill level. Phoenix, AZ

The Legacy Golf Club

The Legacy Golf Club in Phoenix has been one of the favorite public tee times in Phoenix ever since it opened in 1999. Over the years it has earned honors from GolfWeek magazine as the best place to play in Phoenix and a top course in Ariona. The playing field, located in South Phoenix, sits just 5 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, making it an excellent choice for a convenient arrival or getaway round. The Legacy Golf Club was designed by Gary Panks, a golf course architect who lists such renowned Phoenix/Scottsdale layouts as The Raven Golf Club at South Mountain and Grayhawk Golf Club— Talon Course in Phoenix/Scottsdale and as well as Twin Warriors Golf Club outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico in his impressive portfolio. At The Legacy Golf Club, Panks created a rousing, expansive, resort-style- track on a 280-acre site that rambles over the remnants of the historic ranch of Phoenix land developer Dwight B. Heard. (In the early 1900s the then-massive ranch was a famous visiting spot for dignitaries when they came to Phoenix.) The wide-open, desert links-style playing field treats players to views of the Phoenix skyline, Camelback Mountain and Squaw Peak. Historic Sierra Vista House is beside the 1st tee and the original silos left over from the ranch are also a cool sight along the 18th fairway. The Legacy Golf Club’ s easily walkable golf grounds can be played anywhere between 5,471 yards and 6,946 yards from four sets of tee markers plus a hybrid option. With user-friendly elements such as elevated tee boxes, wide fairways, tame rough and manicured desert areas, the course provides a manageable challenge for players of all skill levels. The layout is not without some bite, however. Panks’ s trademark deep, penal fairway and greenside bunkers, elevated and undulating greens, and wind combine to present a formidable defense of par. While players can run their ball up to the putting surfaces along the ground, the runway is apt to be narrow. Most of the par 3s play uphill. When you have a tee time at The Legacy Golf Club you can warm up on a huge driving range, a spacious short game area with a practice bunker, and a large putting green. South Mountain serves as an inspiring backdrop. The club also boasts a large clubhouse that is home to the pro shop and a grill-style restaurant. The National at Ave Maria

With plenty of water, grass bunkers, sand bunkers and undulating greens that come into play, the golf course at The National Golf Club & Country Club at Ave Maria is both challenging and fun. Designed by golf course architect Gordon Lewis, who has crafted more than 80 courses in Southwest Florida, The National is a par-72 championship test that can play more than 7,300 yards from the back tees. There are, however, five sets of tees, starting at just more than 4,500 yards, which means it is playable by golfers of all ages and abilities. Except for the more forward tees, water does indeed come into play on most every hole on this well-groomed layout that opened in 2021. The course features a great dichotomy of holes. The par-3 13th is only 114 yards from the back tees, but the par-3 fifth is 242 yards, and the par-5 14th is two yards shy of 600. In addition to the course, The National at Ave Maria also offers an aqua driving range with floating targets, chipping area, and practice putting green. Inside the clubhouse is a well-stocked golf shop, offering a wide array of the best equipment and apparel in the industry.

From the longest tees it features 6,133 yards of golf for a par of 72 "The course was designed by Joe Roeski and opened in 2009" should say "original nine designed by Ron Cross and opened in 1968, with Joe Reske designing the new nine in the summer of 89" In total, there are 17 sand bunkers situated mostly greenside, and water hazards in the form of ponds or creeks come into play on 8 holes. There are 3 sets of tees that play to distances and slopes measuring 6285 yards/125 slope, 6027 yards/122 slope and 4751 yards with a slope of 119 for ladies hitting from the forward sets. As the slope and yardage indicates - this is a women friendly design as well.

Whirlpool Golf Course

Whirlpool Golf Course is one of Canada’s most highly rated and renowned public golf courses. Owned and operated by the Niagara Parks Commission the course is located in a spectacular setting against the backdrop of the Niagara River Whirlpool and Gorge. Designed by the famous golf course architect Stanley Thompson (also know as the Toronto Terror), and the architect of many other highly acclaimed course designs including Banff Springs, Capilano, St. Georges, and The Highland Links in Cape Breton, NS along with countless over classic designs across North America, Whirlpool is a must play for all golfers. Opened on July 2, 1951, with an international tournament between four well-known professionals. Ten thousand spectators witnessed the defeat of the Canadians, Stan Leonard and Bob Gray by the American players, Dr. Cary Middlecoff and Jimmy Demaret. During the first year of operation, the course saw play by some eighteen thousand, two hundred and fifty-one persons and by mid-1980 the course had seen its one-millionth player.
