Introducing the Moody Gardens® Golf Course, formerly the Galveston Municipal Golf Course, featuring a $16 million comprehensive renovation by the renowned golf course architects of Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design. Revealed in June 2008, the Moody Gardens® Golf Course still features the best historical aspects of the original layout, while significantly improving certain holes and overall course flow. The renovation included new turf grass, green complexes, elevations, irrigation, drainage, cart paths, greens and a full clubhouse renovation. A First-class Public Golf Course The multi-million dollar investment is a contribution to the city on the part of Moody Gardens® and the culmination of the vision to provide a first-class public golf course for local residents and visitors to the Island. The City of Galveston retains ownership of the newly renovated facility, which is managed by Moody Gardens®. A Seaside Course with a Tropical Feel Jacobsen Hardy's attention to detail provides residents and visitors alike with a premiere public golf course. Among the many improvements the course features Paspalum turf, designed for seaside golf courses and providing an outstanding playing surface. To keep playing surfaces in top condition, a new water treatment plant and irrigation system were included in the renovation project. This improvement in water quality optimizes playing surfaces and also provides water for landscaped areas around the clubhouse and on the golf course. The course highlights its unique seaside tropical feel with 18 holes meandering through upland and lowland native areas, natual wetlands habitat of beautiful Sydnor Bayou and over 500 palm trees.

North Augusta, SC

Mount Vintage Golf Club

Located midway between Aiken, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia, Mount Vintage Golf Club is the centerpiece of an upscale private residential community in North Augusta, South Carolina. This beautiful 27-hole Tom Jackson-designed semi-private golf course has been a popular tee time ever since it opened in 2000. Golf Advisor has frequently rated the facility among the Top Courses in South Carolina. With its majestic magnolias and tall pine trees, arched stacked-stone bridges, hilly topography, and fine course conditioning, Mount Vintage Golf Club reminds many players of Augusta National, located less than 30 minutes away. It is, in fact, a favorite choice of Masters patrons looking for a place to play during Masters Week. The club’ s three nines sport distinctly different attributes but flow well together to provide a championship layout that is scenic, challenging and fun to play for all levels of golfers. The Vintage nine is the longest and most dramatic at Mount Vintage Golf Club. Eight of its holes feature at least 30 feet of elevation change. Centered around picturesque Pavilion Lake, holes 5, 6 and 7 are known as the “ Amen Corner” of Mount Vintage Golf Club. Thanks to its hilly fairways, devilish bunkers, and tough greens, the Chester nine is the highest rated for difficulty at the club. Though the first five holes can wreck a scorecard, the final four tests of the Cheester nine are somewhat easier and among the most scenic at Mount Vintage Golf Club. Built in 2008, the Independent nine brings water into play on eight of its nine holes. The most memorable tests of this unique addition to Mount Vintage Golf Club are the par-3 8th, which features a stacked stone bridge and a cascading waterfall that extends from tee to green, and the 9th, a long par-5 that plays uphill to a heavily bunkered, very undulating green. Mount Vintage Golf Club boasts very nice facilities and a friendly ambiance. The heart of the clubhouse is a restored 1840-vintage plantation house. You’ ll find a pro shop, locker rooms, grill restaurant and verandah overlooking the driving range and practice greens. When you’ re anywhere near North Augusta, South Carolina, don’ t miss out on a tee time at Mount Vintage Golf Golf Club.

Shelbyville, KY

Shelbyville Country Club

Measuring only 6400 yards from the back tees The Course at Shelbyville Country Club may look easy on paper, trust us, it is not. Buck Blankenship's 1934 design has been expanded and modernized to provide a fun yet challenging golfing experience. The links houses five par 5’s, five par 3’s and eight par 4’s. While length off the tee may be an advantage on some holes it can easily be a hindrance on others. Narrow landing areas and gently bending fairways may leave long hitters in more trouble than they bargained for. The thoughtful design and multiple teeing grounds allow shorter hitters a more level playing field to challenge the longer player. With hundreds of mature trees, fast deceptive greens, and holes cut into the undulating landscape of Shelby County, The Course at SCC demands both patience and control to navigate successfully. Our course is both challenging and fair, a combination that brings enjoyment to all our members and guests.

Course photo for The Links at Bodega HarbourPublic access under review

Bodega Bay, CA

The Links at Bodega Harbour

Perched along the spectacular Sonoma County Coast, about 70 miles north of San Francisco, The Links at Bodega Harbour has long been known as a hidden gem that delivers great value. A tee time on this links-style layout that showcases Pacific Ocean views from all eighteen holes in unpretentious, low-key Bodega Bay is something of a poor man’ s alternative to ultra cool Monterey Bay’ s Pebble Beach Golf Links. A Robert Trent Jones, Jr. design, The Links at Bodega Harbour opened with nine holes in 1978 and became a full 18-hole layout in 1987. Jones came back for an extensive renovation in 2008. Though the course winds amidst tightly packed housing throughout much of the round, the combination of rolling fairways, cavernous pot bunkers, undulating greens, native coastal rough and seaside marshes create a glorious golf setting. The par 70 playing field maxes out at only 6,230 yards, but it presents a formidable challenge, especially when the wind is up. Hilly terrain spells lots of elevation changes and frequent awkward lies and stances. You’ ll need accurate shot making to avoid the ball-consuming rough and nearly 100 bunkers. The three finishing holes at The Links at Bodega Harbour, called “ The Pit” by locals, are right by the ocean and the exhilarating highlights of the round. All players are required to walk holes 16th and 17th holes (pull carts are set out for players). Bite off as much of the protected wetlands as you dare on your drive on the short, angled par-4 16th. The 17th is a long carry par 3 over the environmentally sensitive area. You get your cart back for the fabulous finishing hole— a long par 4 with a tough tee shot around bunkers and marsh en route to a final downhill approach backdropped by the ocean. Note that weather conditions can change quickly and the marine layer fog often hampers visibility and may even delay play. Practice facilities at The Links at Bodega Harbour include a putting green and a chipping area. There’ s no range, but you can take a few warm-up swings in a hitting net. The facility boasts a well-stocked pro shop, a snack shack and grill next to the shop and a bistro restaurant. The 19th hole ocean views can’ t be beat. Don’ t miss out on a tee time at The Links at Bodega Harbour— it’ s a spectacular golf experience that provides great bang for your buck.
