Midlane Country Club

Ranked as one of Chicagoland’s top 20 by Chicagoland Golf Magazine, the 18-hole, par 71, contemporary design serves to enhance its gently rolling topography and moderate slope with accentuated stands of mature oak trees. The championship tees now stretch to 6,848 yards, making the course rating 73.4 and slope rating 138, a challenge to even the most accomplished golfers. Bentgrass tees and large Bluegrass fairways give the course an excellent manicured touch, while various greenside bunkers add to the challenge. Natural, spring fed lakes and creeks come into play on seven holes, the most dramatic falling evenly around the layout at the 6th and 18th holes. The driving range boasts a 100 x 300 foot Bentgrass tee which features target greens and bunkered greens. There is also a practice putting green.

Napa Golf Course

The only 18-hole championship course serving the general public in the Valley, the course is strategic and beautiful, with water coming into play on 16 holes over the 6,704 yard, par 72 layout. On rolling terrain ideal for golf, the early and finishing holes are shrouded with mature stands of pine and specimen Sequoia and oak, while the mid-round holes give onto the plain along the river. Built in 1968, by noted architects Jack Fleming, designer of the famous Olympic Club Lake Course, which has hosted four US Open Championships, and Bob Baldock, one of the best of the post-war western architects, Kennedy Park has hosted qualifying for the Kaiser Invitational and the US Open. Rated 72.7 with a slope of 131 from the black tees, the course is challenging, but with three other set of tees, it is also manageable for players of all skill levels and offers a unique challenge to each. Green fees are surprisingly affordable and the course is readily accessible from the east and north Bay Areas. It is free of the crowding in more urban settings and tee times are readily available. This is truly one of the great golfing values in the region.

Pinecrest Country Club

PineCrest Country Club a convenient hidden treasure is hidden less than one mile off I-95 in Lumberton, North Carolina is a "classic" golf course with an interesting history. In 1929, Henry Osborne Lee purchased land for a golf course. He and another local resident J.W. Spruill, a civic engineer,laid out a primitive nine hole golf course. In 1932 the " Great Depression" hit and Mr. Lee was unable to pay his mortgage. The first golf course in Robeson County closed. In 1935 this same land was leased to the town of Lumberton and through unbelievable coincidence a young Dick Wilson (yes, the same Dick Wilson that would later design the Blue Monster at Doral) was visiting Lumberton residents Pete Sundy and his sister. Daisy Sundy Meehan. The Sundys had migrated to Lumberton form Delray Beach, Florida, Dick Wilson's home town. Mr. Wilson aspired to become a golf course designer and participated in the design and construction of a new original nine holes that remain basically intact today. These holes are numbers 1,2,3,8,9,10,11,17,and 18. It is believed that these are the first 9 holes ever designed by Dick Wilson. In 1946 the town of Lumberton desired to expand their golf course to eighteen holes. This expansion project was led by Mr. Johnny Johnson, a pharmacist who owned a drug store in Lumberton. Mr Johnson was a passionate player who made it to the finals of the North-South Amateur in the 1938. On his many trips to Pinehurst, NC, Mr Johnson enlisted the help of Donald Ross to design the new nine holes at Lumberton Golf Course. Mr. Ross also had suggestions for the Dick Wilson nine holes, but because of money was tight, his ideas were restricted to the new nine holes. The holes that are today numbers 5,6,7,12,13,14,15,and 16 were finally opened in 1955. In 1958 Lumberton Golf Course wa sold to a non-profit corporation named Robeson Recreational and Charitable Foundation. In 1962 an agreement was reached where the golf course merged with a private clubhouse that had been built adjacent to the golf course in 1949. The new name of the clubhouse and golf course was PineCrest Country Club. PineCrest County Club has hosted three state championships since its completion: the 1958 North Carolina Jaycee Junior Golf Tournament, the 2002 CGA North Carolina Junior Championship, and the 2010 North Carolina Senior Women's Golf Association Championship. Wescott Golf Club is located in the heart of the lowcountry just minutes from Charleston International Airport, historic plantations and gardens, and beautiful beaches. Course architect Dr. Michael Hurdzan designed this 27-hole course with his trademark environmental sensitivity. Set among centuries old live oaks and built on one of the lowcountries oldest plantations, the design captures the traditional flavor of low flowing earthworks and classic bunkering. Each hole is separated and framed by vegetation and natural wetlands. The three 9-hole courses are Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Each presents players with a different feel and look. Oak Forest offers wide fairways and subtle greens, and only the occasional hazard or penal bunker. Burn Kill requires a slightly more accurate tee shot for the best angle into the immense and most undulating greens. Black Robin is a shot makers paradise with a premium on accuracy and the ability to shape your shots through tree lined fairways to well guarded greens.

Chardonnay Golf Club is an 18-hole golf facility located in the Napa Valley. Chardonnay Golf Club represents the premier golf destination in the bay area. The golf course meanders through 150 acres of Chardonnay and Merlot Vineyards and feature numerous lakes and creek crossing, a wide variety of native flora and fauna. Several areas of the property are designed as wildlife preserves and are dedicated to maintaining wildlife habitat among the vineyards and fairways. Sharing the property with the golfers are several species of birds including hawks, kites, kestrels, hummingbirds, and an occasional golden eagle.
