DeMotte, IN

Sandy Pines Golf Club

Sandy Pines Golf Club is often overheard by many newcomers and players as being a sporty yet challenging golf course. The course has many impressive characteristics similar to those you would see in the Carolinas. Impressive greens and spectacular drainage coupled with a native Pine Barrens type topography, makes Sandy Pines a fun yet unique golf experience. The course went through an extraordinary renovation project in 2004, under architect Tim Nugent of Nugent Golf Inc. The layout now features added ponds, bunkers, and bent grass fairways and tees. We believe this layout will challenge any golfer from any skill level. With many more changes to come, we at Sandy Pines invite you to play a round and see for yourself why we are Northwest Indiana’s best kept golf secret. Remember, when your course is wet, we are dry!

Poland, ME

The Links Poland Spring

When you tee it up at the Poland Spring golf course, you are playing on the same turf where Babe Ruth, Walter Hagen, Bobby Jones, Harry Vardon, President Taft, Jim Gallagher, Sonny Liston and many more celebrities have played. The first 9-holes were originally designed by Arthur Fenn (the first American-born professional golfer and course architect) and then Donald Ross of Pinehurst Fame would redesign the course to an 18-hole championship course. Later, Walter Travis also left his mark on Poland Spring. All three are big names in America’s golf history. The Poland Spring golf course is an 18-hole par 71 championship layout with a slope of 124 measuring 6,178 yards. Fifteen of our holes have views of the White Mountains and/or lakes. In the fall, the colors can be spectacular. Enjoy velvet bent grass greens, well maintained fairways, ponds, and tees for all abilities.

Course photo for University Ridge Golf CoursePublic tee-time evidence

Verona, WI

University Ridge Golf Course

University Ridge got its name from the landscape features formed when the last remaining glaciers of the ice age retreated from central North America. The course sits upon a terminal moraine where the Wisconsin Glacier stopped, forming the backbone of the ridge that separates the land into rolling hills and valleys. The golf course itself spreads across the beautiful rolling hills and bowls that accentuate the grass-covered, moonscape that typifies the moraine characteristics and then it gently flows into the dense forests of Wisconsin's Woodlands. Robert Trent Jones designed the course to be player-friendly, but also to be challenging enough to host some of the most prestigious NCAA and amateur championships. He also designed University Ridge in a manner that balanced the natural beauty of the land with the demands placed upon it by supporting a world-class golf course. A very rare, 41/2 star rating from Golf Digest's "Places to Play" in 2002, a 5 star rating from Chicagoland Golf Magazine and ranked 4th in "America's Best Daily Fee Courses in Wisconsin" by Golfweek , University Ridge is not your typical university golf course.
