Course photo for Sugar Hill Golf ClubPublic tee-time evidence

Sugar Hill, GA

Sugar Hill Golf Club

Sugar Hill Golf Club, located some 40 miles north of Atlanta near Lake Sidney Lanier, is the town of Sugar Hill’ s popular municipal course. Offering a fun game that will put your game to the test, it's no wonder Sugar Hill Golf Course draws players from all around. Course architect Willard Byrd, a designer best known for several courses in Myrtle Beach as well as Atlanta Country Club, laid out the playing field in 1992. Few munis in the country boast as appealing a combination of entertaining holes and scenic vistas. Sugar Hill Golf Club is a short, dramatic, and quite challenging course. It’ s a friendly facility that invites you to “ come play one of the most challenging courses in Georgia.” The layout rambles on hilly, heavily treed terrain and boasts spectacular vistas of the course and the wooded countryside. Sugar Hill Golf Club offers a peaceful escape into a pure golf realm, as there are no houses lining the fairways. Instead, the playing field features tight, tree-lined fairways that look intimidating. The intimidation is real. Lots of hills and mounds present a scene of constantly moving terrain. The recipe for success is placement over power here. If your ball is slicing or hooking, it will likely ride the slopes of the fairways and drift into trees. Even when your ball remains in the short grass, you're likely to face uneven lies and stances at Sugar Hill Golf Course. The round starts with a dogleg that sets the tone. Numerous doglegs, some of which are quite unique, flow with the terrain and hook around stands of mature trees. A number of water hazards also factor into play. On both the 4th and 12th, a pair of par 3s, you must fly a lake to reach the green. On the 12th, you must not only carry the lake, but also a large bunker that blankets the front of the putting surface. Notwithstanding the challenge it presents, Sugar Hill Golf Club is a test players of all skill levels can manage because it is not a long course. With its four sets of tee markers, the course can play as short as 4,231 yards and as long as 6,522 yards. Playing from the proper tee boxes will allow everyone to have fun on this exciting course that’ s full of varied, surprising holes. Practice facilities include a driving range and putting green. Sugar Hill Golf Club features a full service bar and grill. A tee time at this popular muni in Gwinnett County will put your game to
