Scottsdale, AZ

Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club

Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club debuted in 2000 and quickly became one of the Arizona golf mecca's most popular and most affordable places to play. When you have a tee time at this 18-hole championship layout you will treat yourself to a fun game on a well-maintained sporty track with breathtaking mountain views. Silverado Golf Club is a user-friendly course everyone can handle without getting beaten up. Since there's not a lot of trouble to contend with, this is an ideal course for beginners and ordinary golfers and a nice warm-up or wind-down track for skilled players. With four sets of tee markers, Silverado Golf Club offered appropriately differentiated challenges between 4,896 and 6,313 yards. You'll find predominantly flat, generous fairways loosely lined by trees and an occasional bunker. Greenside bunkers are somewhat more prevalent, but they are neither deep nor devilishly positioned in front of the putting surfaces. The medium-size, gently undulating greens at Silverado Golf Club invite run up shots and aerial entry. Throughout the round, a number of elevated tee boxes provide good looks at the challenge ahead and also showcase the scenery highlighted by vistas of Camelback and Mummy mountains. Silverado Golf Club's back nine features some elevation changes and more memorable views than the front nine. The round ends uniquely with an exciting par 3 that starts from an elevated tee and features Mummy Mountain in the background. Water surrounds much of the green. While the direct line to the pin is over a portion of the hazard, in keeping with the player-friendly quality of the course, there's a bailout avenue of dry land for conservative players. The course groomers and landscaping staff keep conditions lush and pristine. Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club does not have a driving range, but there is a warm up area as well as a chipping and putting green. The clubhouse features a pro shop and a full-service restaurant that offers breakfast and lunch fare with patio seating overlooking the course. Make a tee time to see why Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club is among the most popular courses in Scottsdale.

Gunter, TX

The Bridges Golf Club

Among the top 15 golf courses in Texas in 2020 according to GolfPass, The Bridges Golf Club is a beautiful semi-private facility with a terrific golf course designed by renowned architect Jeffrey Brauer and major championship winner Fred Couples. The courses, which measures 7,612 yards from the back tees with a rating of 77.7, opened in 2008 and has been receiving rave reviews since. The course got its name because it winds its way through "The Bridges" of Preston's Crossing, the neighborhood where the course is located. The holes are fairly wide open as wind is often a factor. Bunkers are beautifully sculpted and water comes into play on a number of holes. Greens are fairly large and elevated with plenty of bunkers and other protection, but generally fairly accessible. Fortunately, there are five sets of tees, starting at 5,193 yards, making it player friendly for all. The no. 1 handicap hole is the par-5 third, which is 581 yards. But perhaps more daunting is the finishing hole, the 645-yard 18th, which is the no. 2 handicap hole on the course. A lake comes into play from tee to green on this sharp dogleg right (it hugs the right side all the way), where the layup isn't even easy. Going for it in two is pretty much impossible, unless you're one of the best players in the world. Practice facilities include a driving range and putting green. Lessons are also available. The Bridges magnificent clubhouse includes a well-stocked golf shop and The Masters Bar & Grill, which is open for breakfast, lunch and early dinner.
