Willow Wood Golf Club first opened for play in 1998. The 18-Hole golf course is situated on the lovely sprawling countryside three miles south of downtown Portland. Just minutes off both I-96 and Charlotte Highway, the course is thoughtfully carved out of the rolling hills and mature woodlands. It features creeks, wetlands, ponds, expansive meadows and gently contoured hills, with several pronounced elevation changes. It is evident that golf course architect J. John Gorney incorporated as many of these natural land characteristics as possible when designing the course. This diverse, naturally beautiful terrain lent itself most admirably to his grand vision, culminating in a wonderfully scenic and challenging, thoroughly enjoyable golf experience for players of ALL abilities.
