About the course
Understand the course before making an access claim.
In 2002 the members decided to re-establish Westwood as one of the premier private golf clubs in Houston. Keith Foster was selected to redesign the golf course into a traditional parkland style, utilizing the natural beauty of the land and existing trees to form a challenging golf course that would stand the test of time. Keith's design incorporated the natural ravine, and existing trees while enhancing the gentle role of the land. The holes were reoriented inward to strengthen the perimeter creating an "Eden like setting". Along with reconstruction of the golf course, the clubhouse and maintenance facilities were demolished. Then they were relocated to conform and augment the new design. The new design features a blend of different styled holes both in length and character making each hole unique and memorable. Players can chose from one of six sets of tees playing to an overall length of 7,175 yards. Keith was also charged to create a world-class practice facility for members to practice and better their skills before they hit the golf course. With 15 acres to work with he built a spacious driving range, an 8000 sq. ft. putting green, a 5-acre short area and a youth designated practice area.
