DESCRIPTION: The Treetops Sylvan Resort is a first-class resort with five courses to choose from. Four are regulation eighteen hole courses, and the other, called the Threetops Course, is a par 3 course. The terrain on all five courses is hilly, and the tee boxes are elevated. * The Robert Trent Jones Masterpiece is the most difficult layout because the greens are small and fast, and the fairways are narrow and tree lined. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 6th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. * The Fazio Premier Course has tree-lined fairways which are somewhat more forgiving. Rated by Golf Digest in 1996 as the "24th Best You Can Play in the U.S." and the 2nd "Best Public Course" in Michigan. * The Signature Course is a Rick Smith design, with large greens, and no water hazards coming into play. Rated by Golf Digest in 1996 as the "22nd Best You Can Play in the U.S.". * The Tradition, designed by Rick Smith, opened in 1997. This course is specifically designed for players who like to walk. * Threetops is a nine-hole executive course, with tree-lined fairways. The Threetops Course, has many outstanding holes including #3, a 216 yard, par 3, featuring a 145-foot vertical drop from tee to green. In addition, hole #9 has a ninety-foot vertical drop from tee to green. This course is heavily bunkered, and the undulating greens are fast. Only one water hazard comes into play on Threetops. SPIKE RULE: RENTAL CLUBS: PRACTICE FACILITES: Grass tee range, putting green, sand & chipping area available. Also, there is a Golf Academy on the premises that offers exceptional golf instructions by qualified PGA professionals. AMENITIES: Beverage cart, snack bar, restaurant, full service bar ACCOMMODATIONS: The resort offers different types of accommodations, as well as a convention center and restaurants. The Horizon Dining Room features an extensive menu. During the summer, dining out on the deck overlooking the spectacular Pigeon River Valley is very enjoyable.
