The Tides Golf Club, overlooking beautiful Boca Ciega Bay in Seminole, has been a favorite of visitors and locals since 1973."The Tides" is a throwback to an era of Florida golf that is all but forgotten. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere that greets you in the clubhouse lets you know right away that you`re in for a great golf experience.The golf course, which plays from 5,596 yards at the yellow tees to 6,329 at the blues, challenges players of every age and skill level.Although not long by today`s standards, its tree-lined fairways, and well-bunkered, elevated greens place a premium on accurate drives and precise approaches.Tifdwarf grass was installed on all 18 greens during 1996-97, making The Tide`s greens a joy to putt.Refreshing breezes off the bay add to the challenge and enjoyment. One unique feature of the layout that adds to its charm is the location of the first and 10th tees. Separated by only a cart path, they are both hard against the south side of the clubhouse. It`s the highest ground on the property and affords spectacular views of the course, Boca Ciega Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.Four holes - the 2nd, 11th, 12th and 13th- border directly on Boca Ciega Bay.The staff, headed by General Manager/Superintendent Louis DeVos and PGA Head Professional Darryl Spelich, is dedicated to customer service. They know that if their golfers have fun, they`ll keep coming back.The recently renovated clubhouse boasts a well stocked pro shop, and a casual grill room with full bar that`s perfect for relaxing after your round.
