Cedarcrest Golf Course

Built in 1927, Cedarcrest has undergone many changes during its 80 year history, the most recent being a major remodel in 1997. Despite all the changes, Cedarcrest still gives the golfer the feeling of playing an old time course. An abundance of mature evergreen trees line the fairways, natural water features are plentiful, and sand bunkers guard the small undulating greens. Measuring just under 6,000 yards from the back tees with a par of 70, the course is not long by today's standards, but golfers must be on their game if they wish to score .

Kent, WA

Riverbend Golf Complex

One of the busiest courses in the state, the 18-hole course at the Riverbend Golf Complex and Learning Center is a player-friendly layout that is challenging and enjoyable for all levels of players. The course plays 6,701 from the back tees, and there are four other sets, starting at 4,435 yards. Owned by the city of Kent, the complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley. The golf course is routed along a fairly flat piece of land, so it's easily walkable. But even though it's flat, it's anything but easy. There are more than 50 bunkers on the course, which opened in 1989 and was designed by John Steidel. Lakes come into play, too, and the course features a nice variety of holes. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 437-yard, par-4 fourth, a narrow hole with water to the right off the tee. The par 5s are particularly strong, with all of them ranking among the nine most difficult holes on the course. The 18th is a great finishing hole. It's a light dogleg left par-5 hole that plays 565 yards. In addition to the regulation golf course, there's also a mini golf course as well as a practice facility and learning center for lessons. There are three golf shops, including the Riverbend Merchandise Center. And visitors to the Riverbend Golf Complex and Learning Centercan also enjoy the Half Lion Public House, which serves a wide variety of local craft beer, seltzers, appetizers and sandwiches.
