Suncadia Resort- Rope Rider Golf Course

Built along the site of historic Roslyn Mines No. 9, No. 10 and Tipple Hill, an impressive 120' coal tailings rise, this Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design is named in honor of the miners who precariously balanced themselves on the roped coal cars that maneuvered the steep mine shafts. Though Rope Rider challenges even the most experienced golfers with more than 7,300 yards from the tips, it also accommodates family golf vacations, with youth tees on every hole and shorter three and six-hole loops for quick sessions with the kids.

Port Ludlow, WA

Port Ludlow Golf Resort

Distinguished Golf Course Architect Robert Muir Graves designed the picturesque Port Ludlow Golf Club to challenge golfers of every ability level. Born in Michigan in 1930, Mr. Graves graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Landscape Architecture. During his fifty-year career in golf architecture, Mr. Graves designed, remodeled and consulted on over 800 golf course projects throughout the United States and abroad. He earned international recognition for his ability to use and enhance existing landscapes in his golf course designs, which is evident at the Port Ludlow Golf Club. The course was designed to provide a challenging, yet rewarding golf experience while preserving the spectacular natural surroundings. The layout features lush greens and fairways that overlook several lakes and streams offering isolation and serenity, along with extraordinary views as the towering evergreens open up to the Hood Canal, Ludlow Bay, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. In addition to his course design work, for several years Mr. Graves and his colleague, Geoffrey Cornish, conducted many two-day golf course design seminars at Golf Course Superintendents Association of America Conferences, PGA Schools, and also at Harvard University. Mr. Graves is also the author of two books on golf course architecture, Golf Course Design, and Classic Golf Hole Design: Using the Greatest Holes as Inspiration for Modern Courses. Mr. Graves passed away in June of 2003. Golfers, however, will appreciate his accomplishments in course design for generations to come including our very own.
