White River Golf Club

As we start our 19th golf season here at White River Golf Club we thought we'd share for our viewers, a little bit about whom and what we are. We encourage our golfers to bring their family out to play. In fact, children 12 and under play for free when accompanied by an adult. Our course is *walk friendly* for all age groups with a relatively flat terrain, and has often been described as the best walking course in Vermont. Don't let this course fool you! For those golfers looking for diversity in their game, this course delivers. Although a regulation 9 hole course playing to a Par 36 from the back tees, White River offers the golfer an opportunity to play it's forward tees as a Par 3. This not only allows an experienced player to improve their short game, it also provides a shorter course for beginners and children. Where most courses adhere to a dress code, we do not discriminate against tee shirts and jeans. If you feel comfortable in that attire then so do we! It's all about feeling at home and having fun! You won't be turned away for not having "proper attire" Our Greens are maintained primarily for smoothness rather than for speed. A ball should roll in the direction of the putter, not bounced off course by imperfections due to ridiculously low cutting heights. Our Tees and Fairways are firm and yes, sometimes a little less green than other courses because we never irrigate or fertilize them. This is not only an environmentally sound practice, it is a practical approach to allow us to provide golf inexpensively. Although a beautiful landscape is shared by most golf courses, playing golf while watching the river wind it's way around the course offers a tranquil experience that can only be appreciated by playing it. Most importantly, White River is an affordable 9 hole golf course who's players are more concerned with having fun. We offer friendly services and the course is welcoming to players of all skills. Some golfers who play other courses walk away saying "WOW that was tough"! Golfers who play White River say "WOW THAT WAS FUN"! Where do you want to play?!

Williston, VT

Williston Golf Club

Since 1927, The course has long been a local's favorite and the traveler's “must play”. Why the enormous demand to play a round on this legendary course? A golf course that is about 1000 yards shorter than a modern course? It could be because of its unique charm that is complimented by breathtaking views of Camel's Hump and the Green Mountains. Maybe it is because course conditions are always perfect and the pace is enjoyable. More importantly, it is probably because of the layout of the course itself, Measuring 5,725 yards from the back tees, it presents a challenge to the low handicapper, who often feel they will bring Williston to its knees. The reverse usually occurs. On the flip side, High handicappers can play a round that allows them to score well. All golfers have a great experience and enjoy a legendary day!
