Daleville, VA
Ashley Plantation Golf Course is a 1999 Russell Breeden creation that is only about 15 minutes outside of Roanoke and four miles off of I-81. The course and its stately Georgian clubhouse are at the heart of an exclusive residential community. Views of the Blue Ridge Mountains abound as your round unfolds. Roanoker magazine has named Ashley Plantation the top course in the whole Roanoke Valley. It's always a novelty to play a golf course with a par five that measures over 600 yards. Well, Ashley Plantation does not have such a hole. What is does have is a par six measuring 721 yards! Some will consider this course a "must play" because of that 14th hole alone. Thanks in part to this unique signature hole, this Daleville golf course is a par 73 that measures 6,915 yards from the tips. The slope from the back tees is 128, and the course rating comes in at 72.0. Hit off of plush bluegrass fairways on your way to L-93 bentgrass greens at what is becoming recognized as one of the best golf courses in Virginia. Also, the short, executive "Orchards" nine opened in 2009. It features a distinctive island green on the 159 yard ninth hole. Warm up on the three-tier practice range and the putting green. There is also a complete indoor learning center. In the beautiful clubhouse you'll find a full-service pro shop, restaurant, and bar.
