Locust Grove, VA

Meadows Farms & Somerset Farms

Welcome to Meadow Farms & Somerset Farms ! You can book at either course by selecting which course you would like to play at on the right hand side. Meadow Farms - 4300 Flat Run Rd, Locust Grove, VA Somerset Farms - 35448 Somerset Ridge Rd, Locust Grove, VA Meadows Farms Meadows Farm Championship Golf Course, now one of the best golf courses in Virginia, was the dream of Bill “Farmer” Meadows – who passed away in March of 2017 – and was the former owner of Meadows Farms Nurseries. Bill began playing golf in 1990, and as he played more golf, he began to visualize a new kind of golf course. His pure-bred Santa Gertrudis Cattle farm, located here in Locust Grove, Virginia was the ideal site for a golf course with its beautiful rolling countryside. The course is situated approximately 70 miles from Washington DC and Richmond, 50 miles from Charlottesville, and 20 miles from Fredericksburg and Culpeper. Our philosophy of providing players with a “no-frills” course, at an affordable price, is sure to provide a unique and fun golf experience. Somerset Farms Somerset Farms retains much of its history, as the semi-private/public golf course winds through gently rolling woodlands and wetlands, while offering unspoiled views of the Virginia countryside. Somerset Farms’ 6,500-plus-yard course offers 18 Signature holes with traditional and links style play. A slope rating of 138 makes the layout one of the most challenging in Virginia, yet four sets of tees provide “play-ability” and challenge for golfers of every level. The course was designed by Tulsa-based architect Jerry Slack, who masterfully incorporated the heritage of Somerset Farm’s natural terrain into the design, while preserving the natural areas and wetlands of the property. The character and traditions of yesterday live on at Somerset Farms Golf Course.
