The Bridges Course - Firewheel Golf Park

Whether you're an avid golfer ready to play a round or a novice player looking to hit a bucket of balls, you'll experience a day you won't forget at Firewheel Golf Park. Our 63-holes of championship caliber Garland golf, include three regulation courses in designs that both challenge and delight. The Bridges Course, Est. 2001 has three different and unique nines: The Masters, The Champions and The Traditions - all three boast bentgrass greens. The sculpted fairways are lined with oak and pecan trees. Spring Creek and Rowlett Creek meander throughout. Garland golf enthusiasts agree, any choice of nines provides the skillful golfer with a solid test. The clubhouse features the Branding Iron Restaurant and Patio. It's a delightful place to sit and enjoy the afternoon breeze while you watch golfers tee off on the first hole of the champions. The Lakes Course is the toughest 18 of all. Stretching 7,134 yards from the back tees, it is a tight, difficult test with carries over ten lakes and plenty of big-face bunkers. It has a slope rating of 139 from the gold tees. Most Firewheel players say, "If the Bridges Course has teeth, the Lakes Course has fangs!". The Old Course topography consists of slow moving streams winding throughout gently rolling terrain. Tree lined fairways, 65 strategically placed bunkers and heavily wooded areas makes this par 71 a challenge for all golfers. The Old Course remains a favorite among area golfers. The Lakes and Old courses boast the Pavilion, an open-air event facility that's perfect for corporate outings or family celebrations. Truly, this is the finest Garland golf course.

Allen, TX

The Courses at Watters Creek

The redesign of the championship course is the centerpiece of The Courses at Watters Creek. The Traditions, which opens for play January 12, is a course that is surprising in its beauty as it weaves through woodlands of red oak, cedar elm and pecan trees. Most holes have as many as seven tees to accommodate all levels of playing skill. An added touch that might go unnoticed is an auxiliary putting green near the first tee for those rushed to make their tee times. Another feature that makes the course so attractive is the squared off tee boxes that feature 419 Bermuda grass, as do the fairways. The greens are mini verde and can be as fast as the green superintendent desires. The hybrid grass on the greens is the same or very similar as that used on such well-known and admired courses as TPC Sawgrass in Florida and Eastlake Golf Club in Georgia, both sites of major PGA Tour events. For those who played the old Chase Oaks course, the routing has been reversed with the old back nine now the front side and vice versa. Still, some holes, near and dear to the hearts of many, have been preserved like the sixth, which has long been the signature hole because of its beauty and challenge. Nature is a big part of The Traditions from the golfer's first glance down the fairway of the first hole. That wide fairway that slightly narrows at the dogleg with a stand of healthy oak and pecan trees guarding the right side is indicative of things to come. Play The Traditions just once, and you will be wanting to experience more from this true gem of a course. The Traditions makes for a wonderful starting point at this new golfing destination, The Courses at Watters Creek.
