Brigantine, NJ

The Links at Brigantine Beach

Just across the bay from Atlantic City's world famous Boardwalk and Casinos is the Links at Brigantine Beach. Built in 1927, 'The Links' is unique to the Northeast with it's authentic Scottish links design by Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek. Brigantine's history is intertwined with the famed Scottish Links courses of old. Local legend suggests the "Old Pros" such as Walter Hagen and Harry Vardon played in Brigantine before setting sail for the British Open. True to it's historic Scottish roots, this seaside layout includes breathtaking bay views, native marshes, and gently rolling nearly treeless terrain. The berms, moundings and tidal water hazards found on 14 of the 18 holes offer a challenge to all skill levels. The greens roll smoothly and are noted as the finest in Southern New Jerey... a bump-and-run strategy is often the best for producing low scores.

Cinnaminson, NJ

The Riverton Country Club

Riverton Country Club’s nine-hole course opened in the summer of 1900. As the club and town prospered, leaders decided in 1915 it was time to expand the course to 18 holes. The club made what is likely the most important decision in its 117-year history. For its new course, the club hired Donald Ross, considered the best architect in the game’s history. Adjacent land was purchased and the 18-hole course opened in late summer of 1917. Ross retained one original hole, today’s 14th, and otherwise used his judgment and skill that today tests the mettle of golfers on more than 400 courses in this country.

Toms River, NJ

Toms River Country Club

Toms River Country Club's Golf Course is manicured and maintained to the wishes of our members. This 9 hole course has 2 sets of tees and plays as an 18 hole golf course. The 9 hole private course features 6,136 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. There are separate tee boxes for the front and back 9 so the course is played as an 18 hole layout. The course rating is 70.5 and it has a slope rating of 129 on Bent grass. The course is one of the finest courses in the State for it's size and the condition of the fairways and greens have long been recognized as superb. The New Jersey Golf Course Superintendents' Association has voted to recognize the Club by holding their annual outing at Toms River for the last 15 consecutive years, which further adds to the high standards the course maintains. The beauty of the golf course is captured by the Par 3, 6th hole, the club’s signature golf hole. At first glance, the 170-yard, Par 3 hole may not seem intimidating on the score card. However, as you place your ball on the tee and look out to the island green nestled along Toms River with the wind swirling (at times, a 2-3 club wind), you realize that accuracy is at a premium on this hole. The reward of reaching the green is a panoramic view of the river and the sailboats, which captures all that Toms River has to offer. Ed Walls, head golf professional and PGA member, is on-site to plan and supervise all golf activities. A fully stocked golf shop is open from March through December, 6 or 7 days a week. The latest in clothing and equipment is available in the shop, with many new additions planned this year. Club fitting and club repair are just two of the services the shop offers. Ed also offers golf instruction for players of all abilities. Individual sessions, group lessons and clinics can be tailored to fit each golfer’s needs, with a variety of packages offered to fit any budget.

Woodstown, NJ

Town & Country Golf Links

Over in the quaint town of Woodstown is the Town & Country Golf Links. This expansive course features a distinctive layout for each nine holes. The front nine features generous fairways and wide greens. And the back nine favors accuracy and is geared towards you shot makers. But on all eighteen, you will thoroughly enjoy yourself on the rye grass fairways and bent grass greens lined with deep rough and tall fescue. The links-style layout also invites the elements - wind, water and sand - to present occasional obstacles. Seven ponds and numerous bunkers are strategically placed throughout the course, providing both scenic splendor and considerable challenges.
