Belleville, NJ

Hendricks Field Golf Course

Designed by architect Charles Banks, Hendricks Field features well contoured putting surfaces and many interesting holes. Opened in 1929, renovations at Hendricks have included the reconstruction of tees and bunkers, as well as extensive upgrades in drainage that have significantly improved playing conditions. Hendricks has a number of classically designed holes such as the par four 4th hole that has a cluster of Principal’s Nose bunkers in the center of the fairway that present strategic decisions, and the exacting par three 6th with a green that is almost completely surrounded by bunkers. Among the best holes on the back nine is the par five 10th where golfer must negotiate a stream that crosses the fairway in order to reach the green. The narrow fairways and well-guarded greens at Hendricks require both accurate and thoughtful play to add to golfers' enjoyment at this hidden gem in Belleville.

Linwood, NJ

Linwood Country Club

The Linwood Country Club The golf course was designed by Herbert Bertman Strong, a British transplant to Long Island, who built many courses in Florida and the rest of the United States and introduced the first “island” green. The original course was planned at 6506 yards. No plans for a driving range were included. The 1999 reconstruction included modifications to every hole. Tony Lepre and Rob Salad were the architects who redesigned the entire golf course. Their mission included utilizing our unique seaside setting and spectacular vistas to create the wonderful aesthetics that exist today. The goal for playability was and remains to provide our members and their guests with a user friendly yet challenging facility in which the beauty and wildlife of the Jersey shore may be enjoyed.
