Course photo for Hampden Country ClubAccess not yet verified

Hampden, ME

Hampden Country Club

Hampden Country Club is a Hampden golf course that features some of the best tee times in all of the Maine golf community. This course is known as one of the least pretentious “country clubs” in the state, as described in The Guide to Maine Golf Courses. Hampden Country Club features a short, open layout that was crafted in 1967 by Hamm Robbins, a former dairy farmer. Elmer and Leroy Gamble became the owners and operators later. Hampden has generous landing areas tempered by small greens. Although relatively short, the par 5s on the seventh and ninth holes (462 and 420 yards, respectively) are not foregone birdie opportunities. A large pine tree blocks your approach to a small sloping green on the seventh, which is further guarded by a mound and two bunkers, and a small pond on the right. The ninth, too, has a small undulating, two-tiered green that is tucked close to the woods on the right and a huge bunker in the front left and back right with a small body of water to the left of the green. This is a great course for just about anybody!
