Edgartown, MA

Vineyard Golf Club

The Vineyard Golf Club course winds through 235 acres of naturally rolling land and has a look and feel that blends seamlessly within the bucolic setting of Martha’s Vineyard. The course has many classic design elements that present varied and fun challenges to both seasoned and novice players. Throughout the course a player is presented with strategic choices that offer many risk/reward decisions every round. Varied green sizes and shapes call for a broad assortment of short game shots and the subtlety of the greens require a real finesse once one reaches the putting surfaces. These qualities and characteristics are the work of Mr. Gil Hanse and Mr. Jim Wagner, the renowned golf course architect team, who redesigned and revitalized the Vineyard Golf Club, first on the front nine in 2013 and more recently in his transformation of the second nine in 2015. Hanse and Wagner made a concerted effort to locate green complexes on naturally higher points of elevation, inviting players to soak in the natural beauty of the 235 acre property. Walk offs to the next tee are short in nature, allowing for an uninterrupted and flowing round of golf. While the championship set of tees measures a lengthy 7,146 yards the beauty in the playability of Vineyard Golf Club lies in the five different sets of tees that players have to choose from. All skill levels are able to enjoy the course while the challenge in navigating the 112 bunkers around the course is preserved. Vineyard Golf Club is also one of the few 100% organic golf courses in America. This forward looking approach to the agronomy of golf makes the Club stand out among its peers.
