Princeville, Kauai, HI

Prince Course at Princeville Golf Club

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Prince Golf Course at Princeville is an 18-hole championship course situated on pristine land on the Central and Eastern Plateaus of Princeville, HI. It has been called one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world. With its setting above the Pacific Ocean with views to the majestic mountains of the north shore of Kauai and the ocean, the Prince Golf Course would be any golfer’s dream to play on. This par 72 course climbs slopes and careens down hills for a demanding layout that calls for golfers’ most accurate placement. Named for Prince Albert, son of Hawai’i’s King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma, golf at the Prince Course is truly a royal experience.

Lanai City, HI

The Challenge at Manele

High above the crashing surf of Hulopo'e Bay, The Challenge at Manele is an outstanding golf course in Lanai, Hawaii that more than lives up to its name. Built on lava outcroppings, the course features three holes on cliffs, which use the Pacific Ocean as a water hazard. The five-tee concept challenges the best golfers – tee shots over natural gorges and ravines must be precise.

Lanai City, HI

The Experience at Koele

The course begins on a plateau nearly 2,000 feet (610 metres) above sea level, with sweeping views of Maui and Moloka'i across the ocean channel. The signature hole, Number 17, plays from a 250-foot (76-metre) elevated tee to a fairway bordered by a lake on one side and dense foliage the other. The front nine moves dramatically through ravines wooded with pine, koa and eucalyptus trees, and seven lakes and flowing streams with cascading waterfalls dot the entire course. No other course offers a more incredible combination of highland terrain, inspired landscape architecture and range of play challenges. Playing a round here will ensure you bragging rights, no matter what your score.

Wailea, Maui, HI

Wailea Golf Club Gold Course

The home course of The Champions Skins Game from 2001 to 2007, the 7,078-yard Wailea Gold is the most challenging of Wailea’s trio, with a rugged and masterful design that takes advantage of the terrain’s natural undulations. But four to six tee boxes on every hole also make it a suitable track for virtually every player. Created by architect Robert Trent Jones II, the Gold was honored by both Golf Magazine and Golf Digest as one of the country’s ten best new resort courses when it opened in 1994. It has also been recognized by the Maui Historical Society for its preservation of prehistoric lava rock walls during construction, and hailed as one of the world’s best designed courses by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler in the magazine’s first golf resorts poll. Called a “thinking player’s course,” the Gold offers a true test of one’s golf skills. But the most difficult hazards on it are the distracting island views. In one round, you can enjoy spectacular vistas of the ocean, Molokini islet, ancient lava rock walls, coconut trees and sparkling white bunkers.

Wailea, Maui, HI

Wailea Golf Club | 9-Hole The Blue Wave

Wailea’s Blue is a true Hawaiian classic, and akin to the perfect hostess. Her picturesque fairways guide guests on a relaxing jaunt through the heart of resort, offering inviting views of Maui’s neighboring islands and its 10,023-foot dormant volcano, Mt. Haleakala. Along the way, the Wailea Blue serves up ample portions of great island golf: lush fairways with fragrant landscaping, greens with a bit of bite, lovely lakes, and classic coral sand bunkers. Snyder clearly took advantage of the Blue’s superior location on the foothills of Haleakala to create a series of fun and challenging fairways. On the par 5 #17, for instance, golfers are presented with a blind drive over a dramatic uphill slope that obscures the green and most of the fairway. But there’s a reward at the top of the hill: magnificent views of Ma`alaea Bay and the West Maui Mountains. The Wailea Blue features its own clubhouse and pro shop, and is a perennial favorite among returning Wailea golfers who enjoy the Grand Lady’s time-honored design and friendly island hospitality.
