Palm Beach Gardens, FL

BallenIsles Country Club

BallenIsles Country Club – a premier, private country club located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida – is known for its exceptional amenities and high operational standards. Amid 1,300 lush tropical acres, the tradition of an exceptional private club is flourishing in a community of custom designed homes, three championship golf courses, a 9-hole Par 3 Short Course (coming soon), nationally recognized racquets facilities, new resort style pool, extensive health and wellness offerings and a breadth of additional amenities. Few clubs offer such a meaningful connection to the game of golf. The original East Course, once home to the PGA of America, has hosted prestigious events including the World Cup Championship, the 1971 PGA Championship, and nine PGA Senior Championships. The Club’s racquets program is equally distinguished, having earned multiple national accolades and once serving as the home training ground for Venus and Serena Williams. Today, the facilities continue to host both national and international competitions. Ongoing reinvestment in the club experience included the 2020 redesign of the South Course by renowned architect Rees Jones, and the introduction of a pickleball complex in 2021—the first of its kind in the market. Building on its popularity, the Club has since expanded its pickleball facilities to 13 courts, further elevating its racquets offerings. To celebrate the 50-year anniversary of Jack Nicklaus’ victory in the ’71 PGA Championship, the Club commissioned Nicklaus Design with the $9.3 million reimagination of the famed East Course, and Practice Grounds, which are anchored by the newly constructed '71 Golf Learning Center. Most recently, the Club completed a $19 million expansion and renovation of its Sports & Lifestyle Complex, growing the facility from 65,000 to 71,000 square feet. This transformation features new and refreshed amenities, including a 9,000 square foot indoor and 2,000 square foot outdoor Health + Lifestyle Fitness Center, a Pilates Studio, Cosmo & Company Salon and Spa, gentlemen’s and ladies’ locker rooms, and BIT Physical Therapy. Entirely new amenities include: an exciting dining venue, Artisan, supported by Medjools Sweet Shop; the Skinny Palms poolside bar and eatery; The Lounge for members to relax and catch up with friends; a new Aquatics Center with a zero-entry/beach walk-in Grand Pool, including three sun s

Course photo for Waterlefe Golf and River ClubPublic tee-time evidence

Bradenton, FL

Waterlefe Golf and River Club

Waterlefe Golf & River Club Course is a gorgeous championship golf course that anchors an upscale residential community in Bradenton, Florida, just off of I-75 and state road 64. Course architect Ted McAnlis’ s layout boasts a peerless setting along the Manatee River as it extends through the 175-acre upscale community. With water and wildlife seemingly everywhere at the environmentally conscious course, Waterlefe Golf & River Club is a delight for skilled players and ordinary golfers alike. The highlight of the round is the beautiful five-hole stretch on the back nine that meanders along the Manatee River. Cool bridges and cart paths through marshland add still more fascination. Along the way you’ ll see prolific birdlife, alligators, turtles, and maybe even otters and manatees. Waterlefe Golf & River Club is a very challenging course that plays between 4,722 yards and 6,869 yards. Though the club is a favorite of many area professionals and has hosted numerous U.S. Open local qualifying tournaments, the multitude of different teeing areas (up to eleven on each hole) ensure that everyone can play from an appropriate distance. Still, Waterlefe Golf & River Club abounds with forced carries over water (especially from the longer sets of tee markers) and exhilarating risk-reward shots that tempt players to bite off more water than may be advisable. The course puts a premium on accuracy, as the terrain slopes toward the hazards. The many bunkers and sandy waste areas that double as cart paths at Waterlefe Golf & River Club often save shots from being lost in the water, marsh, or thick vegetation. Waterlefe Golf & River Club’ s greens are fast and smooth— they’ re some of the best you’ ll find in Manatee County. If you want to warm up before your round, the practice facilities include an aquatic driving range with targets arranged in the water, short game area with a sand bunker, and a large putting green. The fancy clubhouse is home to a full-service pro shop and a grill room. The next time you are looking for a tee time in the Bradenton-Sarasota area, consider the lovely Waterlefe Golf and River Club for an unforgettable experience.

Course photo for University Park Country ClubPublic tee-time evidence

University Park, FL

University Park Country Club

Among the top golf courses open to the public in South Florida, University Park Country Club is a semi-private club with a 27-hole golf course designed by Ron Garl. Opened in 1991 and rated almost five stars on GolfPass, the course makes great use of the land and water on the site, gently nested in a natural conclave away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Each nine is a par-36 so any combination of two 18s is a par 72. The last nine holes are the longest at more than 3,700 yards from the tips. There are six sets of tees, so the course sets up well for all abilities, starting out at less than 2,500 yards on the first two nines. Water comes into play on the majority of holes, and there are plenty of bunkers, too, both around the greens and in the fairways. Still, this well conditioned course, when played from the right tees, is both challenging and fair. Some of the highlights include the ninth and 18th holes, both of which have greens protected by water. The par-4 27th hole has water in front of the tee and behind the green. University Park Country Club also offers excellent practice facilities that include a range, short-game area and practice greens. Lessons are also available. Inside the clubhouse is a well-stocked golf shop as well as the Park Grille & Caf? is open for lunch daily and on Sunday for breakfast and lunch. University Park Country Club can also accommodate weddings, special occasion events, and private parties.
