Course photo for Bent Tree Country ClubPublic tee-time evidence

Sarasota, FL

Bent Tree Country Club

With a great history and an abundance of natural beauty, Bent Tree Country Club is popular spot for golfers in the Sarasota area. Originally designed by Bill Lewis, this once-fully-private facility opened in 1975, but has been semi-private in recent years with flexible membership plans. It wasn't long after Bent Tree Country Club debuted that it was thrust into the limelight as it played host to the Sarasota LPGA Classic from 1976 to 1988. Champions included Kathy Whitworth, Judy Rankin, Nancy Lopez, and Patty Sheehan. Sheehan won it three times, while Lopez took the title twice. The golf course has undergone renovations over the years from golf architects like Ward Northrup (1994 greens renovation). The course has five sets of tees and plays from 4,278 yards to 6,606 yards. It features tree-lined fairways, well-maintained greens, mature oaks and miles of streams and lakes to create a tranquil, but challenging setting. Signature holes include the par-3 third hole, which requires a 185-yard carry over water. The other signature hole is the par-5 ninth, a double dogleg with water left, right and in the middle to a three-tiered green. And it doesn't get any easier from there. The back nine is considered the favorite. Golfers who play Bent Tree Country Club will also enjoy observing the birds and natural wildlife that populate the course. Bent Tree is also an easy walk, and carrying your bag or taking a push cart isn't discouraged. In addition to the par-72 golf course, Bent Tree offers hitting nets, a fully-grassed short-game area, and practice greens. Golf lessons are available from the professional staff. Effective 2/1/2025, the Grillroom and Bar is temporarily closed for renovations. The Beverage Cart will be available daily. Serving Jumbo Hot Dogs, Sandwiches, Beverages and a Full Cocktail Bar.

Course photo for Mystic Dunes Golf ClubPublic tee-time evidence

Kissimmee, FL

Mystic Dunes Golf Club

Mystic Dunes Golf Club, a championship course designed by six-time PGA Tour winner and current NBC Golf analyst Gary Koch, stands out in Orlando’ s crowded golf scene. When the course, the centerpiece of a resort development in Celebration, Florida, opened in 2001, its unique, varied, player-friendly routing and extravagant greens earned national recognition. Mystic Dunes Golf Club has gone through several ownership changes and seen lots of course-side home and condominium construction since then, but it is still an exciting, user-friendly playing field. With five sets of tee markers plus a combo option to choose from, players can take on Mystic Dunes Golf Club from as short as 4,665 yards and as long as 7,012 yards. The front nine features movement in the fairways, perimeter mounding, and devilish bunkers, while a highlight stretch of the back nine flows through wetland areas. Mystic Dunes Golf Club is a course that favors creative shotmaking. You can approach the greens with bump-and-run shots. Above all else, the greens really captivate players at Mystic Dunes Golf Club. Koch drew inspiration from Alistair Mackenzie to create big, artistic, topsy-turvy putting surfaces. Much like other designers do with fairways, Koch pushed soil to build large slopes into his greens. The tiers of the green on the par-5 5th hole alone drop nearly ten feet— more than some Florida courses vary in elevation over 18 holes! Putting is a thrilling adventure at Mystic Dunes Golf Club that alternately excites, mesmerizes and befuddles most players. Some very skilled players frequent Mystic Dunes Golf Club and the reason they do is because they relish the opportunity to put their short game to the test. If you want to warm up before your round, the club’ s extensive practice facilities include a driving range, chipping and putting greens, and practice bunkers. The clubhouse features a well-stocked pro shop and Kenzie’ s Restaurant and Lounge, a comfortable place to relax after your round. The restaurant, which serves American fare, is open for lunch and dinner. For an exciting game on some of the wildest and most memorable greens you’ ll ever play, book your tee time for Mystic Dunes Golf Club.
