Shadow Hills Golf Club

Shadow Hills Golf Club was a non-profit corporation (501c7) established in 1959. It was originally a 9-hole sand fairway course. In the mid 1960s, an outdoor swimming pool was added to the premises. In 1997 the course was expanded to an 18 Hole course. In February of 2003, a new Clubhouse facility was constructed, which offered a comfortable Bistro/Bar combination, with a spectacular view of the front 9 holes from a second floor terrace, a large dinning room, card room, Pro shop, locker rooms, and an elegant banquet facility. Shortly thereafter, all of the cart paths were laid in concrete to enhance the beauty of the course. Shadow Hills was a semi-private Golf Club during this period of time and not open to the local community. In July of 2010, the Club was purchased by Holt Family Recreation, LLC, and this new ownership's vision was to immediately open the Club to the public, improve the golf course, the Clubhouse, and expand on other ancillary services offered to the community, by creating an event center for many special occasions and personal family gatherings. The Club constantly strives to provide a quality recreational experience for golfers and other consumers. The owners want Shadow Hills Golf Club to be a family destination, offering golf, swimming, game room activities, and other outdoor recreational fun.

Short Course at Cordillera

When people hear “short course” they think of a two club (wedge & putter) pitch and putt. The Short Course at Cordillera is anything but!! This course is forever changing the way you think of a “Par 3 Course”. It’s a five-star course with plenty to offer. After taking in the scenic drive through the Cordillera Community, the views only get better as you arrive to the clubhouse. Starting with the practice facility, it offers all the amenities you would ever need to perfect your short game. It includes, a 50 yard pitching range, chipping green, bunker area, two-tiered putting green and a 100 yard practice hole. If you ever need help with any of these parts of the game the staff of expert instructors are available at any time, in addition to offering adult and junior clinics weekly. The par 27 course has 4 different sets of tees, giving a comfortable option to any skill level. The distances can range anywhere from 57 to 200 yards. If you arrive and just want to take in the unparalleled panoramic views of the Vail Valley, simply ask the golf shop for a complimentary cart, which they are happy to provide. If you are interested in becoming an elite golfer the course can be a great test to every part of your short game. It’s an ideal setting to learn the great game of golf in a fun and inviting atmosphere. Designed by renowned short game guru Dave Pelz, who focused on making each hole unique and challenging, saying, “The course philosophy is to help anyone who plays it to play better on every other course in the world, because it embraces about 90 percent of the shots in golf in about 25 percent of the time of a full 18-hole course.” Not only is it well designed but it is impeccably maintained for the benefit of both the community and all guests that decide to make the trip. One option for players is our uneven Pelz designed tee boxes. Mr Dave Pelz said it best, “I don’t know about you, but I have never played golf on a level fairway or level green in a round of golf.” The picturesque course is nestled on the ridge of the Cordillera Divide Community overlooking the entire Vail Valley and is minutes from Downtown Edwards. All in all, the goal at The Short Course is to provide all players with an inviting, unique and exceptional golf experience. If you’re in the Vail Valley, this is a Must Play!
