Scottsdale, AZ

Troon North Golf Club

Troon North Golf Club, one of North Scottsdale, Arizona's crown jewels, wraps gracefully around the northern slopes of landmark Pinnacle Peak. Giant granite boulders lie strewn across the rugged landscape of the High Sonoran Desert. Designed by Tom Weiskopf and opened in 1996, the course instantly met with acclaim and ranks consistently among the top public golf courses in the country. Players can experience two new layouts, built in 2007, with improved playability. Both courses feature shorter distances between front and back nines. For consistent overall design, new PennLinks creeping bent grass has been added to the surface of every putting green, and bunkers have been reconfigured or removed on both courses. The enhanced layout changes the "new" Pinnacle Course from a par 72 to par 71. It's been transformed into a more links-style feel, with a continuous layout that doesn't return to the clubhouse until the 18th hole. It's also more walkable now, with shorter distances between greens and tees.

Wildfire Golf Club - Palmer Course

Deep in the Sonoran Desert and just Northeast of the city of Phoenix is a picturesque golf course designed by two of the most famed and praised golfers to ever play the game. Wildfire Golf Club features two 18-hole courses that deliver a high-quality desert golf experience to all of the golfers and tee time bookers who visit the facility. Nestled near the McDowell Mountains, Wildfire Golf Club offers an exemplary version of what golf in Arizona should be. From the century-old Saguro cacti to the native grasses and painted backdrops, this course has quickly turned into a must-golf destination for anyone who loves the sport. The two courses located at Wildfire Golf Club are part of the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, which has been voted as one of the Top 75 Resorts in North America by Condé Nast readers. However, the course offers public tee times for local residents and travelers alike, allowing anyone who is interested the chance to play this stunning Sonoran layout. You do not have to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy either the Faldo or Arnold Palmer Signature Courses. The Palmer Signature Course at Wildfire Golf Club is a par 72 layout that opened in 1997. Since that time it has developed a reputation as one the greatest golf courses in both the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas. The Palmer Course has a play yardage of up to 7,145, and offers impressive views of the surrounding landscape at every hole. The expansive and immaculate fairways allow the golfer to remain in play even if they tend toward the occasional errant shot or otherwise golf with a high handicap. With superb flashed bunkering and curvy putting greens that perfectly emphasize what Arnold Palmer courses are most famous for, golfers can expect challenge, excitement and entertainment while playing a round of golf here or otherwise enjoying their tee time booking. The Palmer Signature Course at Wildfire Golf Club features mini-Verde greens with Bermuda fairways that are overseeded with rye, and due to the sunny and warm weather Phoenix, AZ is known for, year-round tee times are available. The golf courses at Wildfire have been lauded with numerous accolades. Some of these prestigious mentions include recognition as one of the Top 100 Resort Courses in the United States, Top 121 Golf Resorts in the World and Top Five Golf Resorts in Arizona. These are in addition to being selected as the Mar

Phoenix, AZ

The Legacy Golf Club

The Legacy Golf Club in Phoenix has been one of the favorite public tee times in Phoenix ever since it opened in 1999. Over the years it has earned honors from GolfWeek magazine as the best place to play in Phoenix and a top course in Ariona. The playing field, located in South Phoenix, sits just 5 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, making it an excellent choice for a convenient arrival or getaway round. The Legacy Golf Club was designed by Gary Panks, a golf course architect who lists such renowned Phoenix/Scottsdale layouts as The Raven Golf Club at South Mountain and Grayhawk Golf Club— Talon Course in Phoenix/Scottsdale and as well as Twin Warriors Golf Club outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico in his impressive portfolio. At The Legacy Golf Club, Panks created a rousing, expansive, resort-style- track on a 280-acre site that rambles over the remnants of the historic ranch of Phoenix land developer Dwight B. Heard. (In the early 1900s the then-massive ranch was a famous visiting spot for dignitaries when they came to Phoenix.) The wide-open, desert links-style playing field treats players to views of the Phoenix skyline, Camelback Mountain and Squaw Peak. Historic Sierra Vista House is beside the 1st tee and the original silos left over from the ranch are also a cool sight along the 18th fairway. The Legacy Golf Club’ s easily walkable golf grounds can be played anywhere between 5,471 yards and 6,946 yards from four sets of tee markers plus a hybrid option. With user-friendly elements such as elevated tee boxes, wide fairways, tame rough and manicured desert areas, the course provides a manageable challenge for players of all skill levels. The layout is not without some bite, however. Panks’ s trademark deep, penal fairway and greenside bunkers, elevated and undulating greens, and wind combine to present a formidable defense of par. While players can run their ball up to the putting surfaces along the ground, the runway is apt to be narrow. Most of the par 3s play uphill. When you have a tee time at The Legacy Golf Club you can warm up on a huge driving range, a spacious short game area with a practice bunker, and a large putting green. South Mountain serves as an inspiring backdrop. The club also boasts a large clubhouse that is home to the pro shop and a grill-style restaurant. When you’ re in Scottsdale/Phoenix, a tee time at The Legacy Golf Club is

Tucson, AZ

Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa

Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa, in Tucson, Arizona has two very different 18-hole championship golf courses that covers 260 acres in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The Catalina Course, designed by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin, has hosted dozens of PGA and NCAA events over the years. A traditional-style course with long fairways overlooking the beauty of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The PGA pros rank the 18th hole as "one of the most challenging finishing holes on the tour." In 2005 they added a second course, The Sonoran Course, designed by the legendary Tom Lehman. Here the fairways are bunked and tree-lined, which can cause plenty of problems off the tee. Grab some food in the clubhouse after round one and you'll have the strength to play both courses at The Omni Resorts Tucson National all in one afternoon.

Green Valley, AZ

San Ignacio Golf Club

In 1854 Mexico sold the land parcel known as San Ignacio de la Canoa to the U.S., thus the name of the Arthur Hills' 18-hole golf course located in Green Valley, Arizona. Just 20 minutes south of Tucson, this par 71 facility built in 1989, offers yardages from 5,200 to 6,704 depending on the tees selected. The strategy is sublime. One outstanding feature is the visibility from tee to green. Golfers see everything they must encounter before they swing the driver. The club is at 3,000 feet elevation which offers a cooler temperature in the middle of the summer than other Tucson courses. San Ignacio is the site of extensive practice facilities and offers world famous John Jacobs Golf Schools throughout the year.
