Illinois’ rural McHenry County golf courses are among some of the most wide-open and serene in the entire Midwest. The Plum Tree National Golf Club, a Harvard golf course, is a perfect example. Tee times at Plum Tree take players through 200 acres of unspoiled, rolling forest featuring bent grass tees, greens and fairways. The affordable rates at the facility have also made it popular with many nearby Rockford golf enthusiasts. This course has even played host to several tournaments, including U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying, U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying and many PGA events.
