Pete Brown Golf Facility was established as Jackson Municipal in 1947, later becoming Sonny Guy Golf Course, and eventually renamed after Pete Brown in June of 2019. Pete Brown, a Jackson native, began his golfing career as a caddie at the Municipal Golf Course, affectionately referred to as Muny. He later became a professional golfer and became the first black player to win a PGA sanctioned event. Pete Brown Golf Course plays nearly 6700 yards from the Blue tees and offers generous fairways, mild rough, and a driving range.
