Myrtlewood Golf Club’s PineHills Course in Myrtle Beach, one of the Grand Strand’s first layouts, has stood the test of time. Established in 1966, the PineHills Course underwent a total makeover by architect Arthur Hill to be nominated for the title “Best New Resort Course” by Golf Digest in 1994. It has been a popular choice among local golfers and visitors ever since. Stretching along the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway, PineHills features tif-dwarf Bermuda grass greens and fairways that make the course a modern masterpiece. Measuring just 6,640 yards from the back tees, PineHills incorporates creative use of mounding and strategic placement of water hazards and tight, tree-lined fairways to present golfers with a test that requires finesse over brute force.
