About the course
Understand the course before making an access claim.
Of interest, the Cloudman's and the Hamlin's had summer homes at Lake Geneva and observed golf at the Lake Geneva Country Club [The club was formed in 1895]. We understand that the four or five of them made a sort of a three-hole course behind the State Hospital that they used for practice. There were no greens but perhaps they put several tin cans in the ground. This might have started in 1898, but it never made the three newspapers. This was not a country club. This head start also might help explain their early golf successes in tournaments.
