About the course
Understand the course before making an access claim.
Chamisa Hills Golf and Country Club was designed and built in 1970 by nationally respected architects, Desmond Muirhead, whom created the West nine, and well known golfer, Gene Sarazen (Nicknamed the “Squire”), whom developed the East nine. In 1988, the “Merry Mex”, Lee Trevino, constructed the North nine. The architects saw the opportunity to develop three quite different but equally challenging nines for both men and women. In doing so, they succeed by creating 27-holes of championship golf that high and low handicappers alike can enjoy. Shot placement is extremely crucial as deciduous trees are strategically placed throughout the course. Special care was taken during the development of the Chamisa Hills Golf and Country Club community to maintain property lines that would not interfere with the play on this classic course layout. The fairways feature primarily Bluegrass, and the greens consist of Seaside Bent.
