Cattails Golf Club 18-Hole Championship public golf course was designed by PGA Professional John R. Williams and opened in 1991. The course has hosted The Michigan Amateur Qualifier, LPGA Futures Tour, Amateur Shooters Tour, Elite Company and Charity Events. Located just minutes outside of Detroit, Cattails is Michigan's golf destination. Built on a former 160 acre horse farm, the course embodies the natural beauty of the South Lyon area. The course successfully integrates the many acres of wetlands and hardwood forest native area. The front nine travels through and around creeks and wetlands. The back nine is cut through a hard wood forest with a few wetland areas to navigate. Practice in Style, with a practice putting green, a practice chipping green with bunkers, a 30 station grass tee driving range with 4 target greens. The 5,000 square-foot clubhouse. features an elegant setting with a covered patio overlooking the 9th green. Inside the richly appointed clubhouse is a professionally-staffed golf shop, full service bar and grille and an area to host 16 - 140 players for a golf outing.
