Conveniently located just 25 minutes from the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip, Black Mountain is a sure bet to make your day unforgettable.Black Mountain offers 27 Championship Holes…Founders – The original 9 holes is a traditional design featuring small undulating greens and challenging par 4’s. This course is noted in the Valley with “Amen Corner”, which starts you out with 3 very challenging holes. #1 & #2 are both long par 4’s, typically playing into a prevailing wind. Hole #3 is a 176 yard hole and has earned the honors of being the #2 handicap hole as a par 3. The par 5’s are reachable for a long hitter and birdie can be a nice reward.Horizon – The 2nd 9-holes designed in the early 60’s, has larger greens and birdie opportunities on some of the shorter par 4 holes. The par 5’s are more challenging to reach in 2 but are certainly a birdie opportunity for a player with a proficient short game. This 9-holes is fairly wide open and offers a potential low score for the polished player and a pleasant experience for the less experienced golfer.Desert – Designed in 2002, this course is appropriately named and reflects the terrain of the natural Mojave Desert the club was founded on. Desert arroyos challenge you in strategic locations requiring a player to use every club in the bag! The greens are this course are very large and extremely undulating. Birdie typically requires you hit your approach close. The 9th hole on the Desert course is featured in the book, 1,001 Golf Holes You Must Play Before You Die. Come visit and we can give you the “tips” to survive Desert #9!
