Birkdale Golf Club in Huntersville, North Carolina, is a public golf course with a private club atmosphere. The Charlotte-area golf course is set on 200 acres of rolling terrain, carved between tall pines and natural streams. The 7,000-yard, par 72 golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer and is made up of Bermuda fairways and Crenshaw bent grass greens that offer a true test of golf skills. Birkdale Golf Club was awarded "Best New Golf Course" in North Carolina in 1997, Charlotte’s "Best Public Course" in 1998 and was voted one of the "Top Five Public Golf Courses" in North Carolina.
